I wanted to share some tips and ideas for getting extra work before Christmas (if you want it) or kickstarting things. Whilst I'd love for you to get a job through us as we really focus on building momentum around the courses we're not always able to take on every family / job opportunity that comes our way so these are my top tips for getting into or more work...
Register with Bubble >> Bubble is an online childcare app. it works in a similar way to Uber and AirBnB where it links supply with demand and then babysitters / families are reviewed. I'm very happy to be your reference and you can adjust your location to your area. It's great for picking up extra bits here and there.
Set up a profile on School Notices >> You do need to have a private school connection with this platform, so ask around if you can. Keep your profile short, share your training and experience. Posts last for 3 months so be sure to set a calendar notification to update it!
Put up a flyer / notecard in your local pub, village hall, garden centre, cafe. Again share about your training and qualifications / experience. Include your contact number and general availability - it sounds old school but it works a treat.
Reach out to anyone you've previously worked for / helped and ask if they need a hand at all or if they have any friends that might need support with their childcare, perhaps over the Christmas holidays. You'll be surprised at what people come back with!
In terms of rates; we would recommend charging between £10 and £12ph. The important thing is getting the work, so sometimes lower is better for that. You can increase your rate over time. Make sure you always ask for a reference and add it to your reference document and update your CV as you go - it will make SUCH a difference!!
